With in-house compliance experts, an easy-to-use automation platform, and a dedicated Customer Success Manager (CSM) to guide them through the process, George knew that Thoropass was the right fit for 1up.
Our CSM did a good job of keeping us on our toes, staying in the loop, and making sure that we were hitting milestones. Having that post-onboarding cadence of weekly calls really helped.

Compared to completing a SOC 2 audit manually, 1up’s process was a breeze. “It was a breath of fresh air to work with Thoropass this time around,” said George Avetisov. 1up completed penetration testing as part of the process. After acting on feedback from the testers, it passed with flying colors.
It was predictable, it was easy, and we were able to respond fairly quickly to the findings.

RESULTS
SOC 2 in only 4 months leading to increased credibility and opening doors to new deals, including enterprise
1up achieved its SOC 2 Type 1 certification in only four months, from onboarding with Thoropass to audit. The timeline beat George’s expectations, and he credits their success to working in lock-step with the Thoropass team.
1up even closed an enterprise deal while the SOC 2 Type 1 audit was still in progress.
We had an enterprise prospect who was giving us a hard time because we had not achieved compliance yet, and the Thoropass team came through with an engagement letter.
That really helped because we shared that with the prospect, they were happy with it, and we actually ended up closing the deal because of that letter.

LOOKING AHEAD
1up plans on pursuing ISO 27001 and maintaining continued compliance
1up is continuing to improve its security posture, currently working on its SOC 2 Type 2 certification and gearing up for its ISO 27001 audit.
The 1up team continues to trust the Thoropass team as its dedicated compliance partner–after all, it’s all about the people.
I’ve worked with other compliance vendors in the past, and it just doesn’t feel as personal of a relationship.
If you’re a small-medium business, or a mid-market company, I think Thoropass is a better fit than some of the other players. I felt more at home working with Thoropass.
